Robotic Process Automation
What is RPA?
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a non-invasive software that allows you to build, deploy, and manage robots that emulate and complete human rule-based tasks. This enables your employees to contribute to higher-level work by eliminating mundane and repetitive tasks.
Key Benefits of RPA
Easy to deploy
No impact on existing infrastructure
Bots can run independently 24/7
Common RPA Data Tasks
Data Entry: Eliminate data entry tasks such as invoice entries across multiple systems.
Data Collection: Streamline data retrieval across data streams.
Data Cleansing: Create timely & automated data cleansing tasks that help eliminate error-prone data.
Data Migration: Automate data migrations between enterprise applications.
Data Monitoring: Continuously have bots check data for anomalies.
Advanced RPA Tasks
Improving RPA processes using advanced data analytics and machine learning to analyze RPA-generated data can help you develop a deeper understanding of the organization’s workflows to pinpoint process improvement opportunities. Here are some advanced approaches:
Process Mining: Visualize the whole process for what it actually is versus what you may think it is, to optimize and reduce risk throughout the entire process.
Process Simulation: Identify process dependencies and simulate the impact of different scenarios leveraging process data.
Machine Learning: Uncover prescriptive strategies leveraging machine learning models to optimize the entire process.
Our RPA Implementation Strategy
RPA’s Impact on Customers
New Mexico Mutual partnered with PMsquare to implement IBM Robotic Process Automation to automate 100% of the manual tasks involved in policy renewals.
The average policy renewal time at New Mexico Mutual used to be 20 minutes. With RPA, it’s five minutes. A subprocess like policy assignment that used to require a minute of someone’s time is now completed in ten seconds or less by the RPA bot. Across a full workday at New Mexico Mutual, these improvements give three and a half hours back to staff. Moving forward, New Mexico Mutual isn’t limiting RPA to policy renewals. “We have also built two additional RPA bots for our claims department and one to assist in business analytics,” says De Bruijn. And the rest of the business has noticed. “In 2022 we’ve already gotten a lot of requests from our business teams. So we are going to continue that growth and automation.”
