The Big Date: April 30, 2026 

IBM has announced that Cognos Analytics 11.2.x will reach a major lifecycle milestone on April 30, 2026. After this date, it moves out of standard support and into a tiered model: Extended Support (Year 1) and Sustained Support (Years 2–4), ending in April 2030.

What Does This Mean? 

Standard Support Ends: No more regular fixes or feature updates. 

Extended Support (Year 1): Critical security and defect fixes only. 

Sustained Support (Years 2–4): Limited assistance; help with usage and configuration, but no new fixes or enhancements. 

End of Support: After April 2030, IBM will no longer provide any support for 11.2.x. 

Why It Matters 

  • Security Risks: Without standard support, you lose compatibility updates and non-critical patches. 
  • Cost Implications: Extended Support is typically costs more than upgrading, and far more than your standard S&S fees.
